Community Service & Special Projects

Community service and volunteerism are central to the Siri Foundation’s mission. We empower the children we support to take on leadership roles by organizing impactful service projects within their local communities. By instilling these values early in their lives, we help them grow into compassionate leaders committed to making a positive difference.

Babu Rao Sir spearheads our community service initiatives. In addition to his teaching role, he is an active member of the Organ Donation Society. He seizes every opportunity to assist others by providing medical aid, educational support to underprivileged students, mentorship, organizing organ donation events, and leading clean and green initiatives

In March 2019, the Siri Foundation spearheaded the playscape project. The design for the all-weather, eco-friendly playground was created by Anthill Creations, a nonprofit organization that mobilizes communities to build inclusive and sustainable playscapes. We utilized recyclable materials such as scrap tires, cables, and oil drums to create these beautiful play areas. This adaptive reuse of scrap is both economical and sustainable, with a construction timeline of less than four weeks and a cost under Rs. 2.5 Lakhs.

Elementary School transformation at Koduru Village  - Special Project 2016-2017

Established in 1933, the Koduru Elementary school had fallen into a dilapidated condition by 2016. Pigs and animals made it their home after years of neglect, and the school even attracted thugs and alcoholics at night. A young teacher, Mr. Basava Raju, who had joined in late 2015 decided to restore the government-run school, and called for action, reaching out to the local community leaders and various charitable organizations. The transformation journey kicked-off in early 2016 and completed in Aug 2017. The direct impact was a 140% increase in enrollments, from 29 students in 2015-16 academic year to 70 students in 2017-18.
