World Cancer Day Outreach : Empowering Young Minds Through Preventive Health
On World Cancer Day (February 4, 2026), Dr. Teja Sureddi and Dr. Caitlin Dubell, resident physicians at Virtua Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, USA, led a cancer awareness and health education program at ZP High School in A. Koduru Village.
They conducted an educational session focusing on HPV vaccination, cervical cancer prevention, and iron deficiency anemia in adolescents. Dr. Dubell participated virtually, while Dr. Sureddi led the session in person as a SIRI Foundation Ambassador.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging and asking thoughtful questions. In addition to learning about these important health topics, students were encouraged to share the information with their families and community, extending the impact of the program beyond the classroom. Their enthusiasm and clear understanding of the topics reflected the effectiveness of the outreach.
The program successfully raised awareness about preventive health measures and empowered students with essential knowledge to make informed health decisions.
