In October 2026, Bala Parimala reached an important milestone in a dream she has pursued for years—admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program at Anil Neerukonda Institute of Dental Sciences, Visakhapatnam.
Rather than tell Bala’s story for her, we wanted to share it in her own words.
I am Bala Parmila..i completed my 12th standard...our's a middle class family..I am the elder daughter of our family and I have one younger brother.
I wanna share My Journey with Siri Foundation
After completing my 10th standard, I wanted to choose BiPC because my dream was to become a doctor. However, due to financial difficulties, my parents were hesitant to let me pursue my dream.
At that time, our school's Biology teacher, L. V. Narayana Rao Sir, introduced me to Siri Foundation. Joining this foundation became a turning point in my life. When I entered Siri Foundation, I felt like I had found a family of my own.
Siri Foundation has helped me a lot, especially by supporting my college fees. This financial support has been a great help to me and my family. But for me, Siri Foundation has given me something even more valuable than financial assistance: courage, confidence, guidance, and a sense of belonging. It gave me the strength to continue pursuing my dream of becoming a doctor, even when my circumstances made it difficult.
One of the things I appreciate most about Siri Foundation is its mentor system. It has helped me tremendously throughout my journey.
After my NEET examination, I was completely confused about what to do next. I didn't know how to apply for counselling, how the process worked, or what steps I needed to take. I had so many doubts and needed someone to guide me. At that time, I contacted Rama Krishna Anna, who gave me Yaswanth Anna's number and told me that I could ask him any questions.
Yaswanth Anna, who is pursuing his MBBS, guided me through the process and helped me whenever I needed clarification. The most special thing about him is that, no matter what the time was, whenever I had a doubt or needed a suggestion, I could simply call him, and he would answer. I never felt hesitant to approach him. His constant support made me feel that I had an elder brother beside me, someone I could trust and depend on.
Over time, I became so attached to these brothers that I started treating them as my own. That is what makes the mentor system so special to me. It is not just about receiving advice; it is about building relationships, feeling supported, and knowing that someone is always willing to help you move forward.
Another person who has been an important part of my journey is Srini Sir. From the day my NEET results were announced until now, I have shared every important moment with him. When my results came out, I informed Srini Sir and L. V. Narayana Rao Sir, and they were genuinely happy for me. Their happiness meant a lot to me because they were among the people who had supported and encouraged me throughout my journey.
Today, I am pursuing my dream through BDS, and I feel grateful that I have people with whom I can share not only my achievements but also my doubts, fears, and happiness. Having someone to guide me through important decisions has made this journey much easier.
One of my favourite feelings is the excitement I get whenever there is a Siri Foundation meeting. I don't see it as just a meeting or an event. I look forward to it because I get to meet my family. The happiness of seeing everyone together and spending time with people who have become so close to my heart is something truly special to me.
Looking back, I realize that Siri Foundation has played a significant role in my life. It has helped me financially with my college fees, guided me through difficult and confusing situations, encouraged me to believe in myself, and given me relationships that I will always cherish.
For me, Siri Foundation is not just a foundation that supports my education; it is a family that supports my dreams, celebrates my happiness, guides me through confusion, and gives me the courage to keep going.
I am deeply grateful to L. V. Narayana Rao Sir, Srini Sir, Rama Krishna Anna, Yaswanth Anna, and everyone at Siri Foundation who has been part of my journey.
I may have joined Siri Foundation to receive support for my education, but along the way, I found a family. And that is something I will always be thankful for.
